Why Fall is the Best Time to Move

[All my blogs are written without the assistance of AI. I have nothing against that, I’m just weirdly proud.]

So, you’re looking to move.

Well, you picked just about the best time of year to do it.

Fall is a fantastic time to move across town or even across the country (the world??). The weather is cooler, you don’t feel like you’re in a boiler (swamp butt is a thing and you don’t want it) (can I say that on here??) (we’ll just keep that between us), there’s less competition because all the kids are back in school, and specific to right now, the interest rates have come down, making that home you’ve had your eye on more affordable!

I might make a separate post about those interest rates, because this isn’t a black Friday sale and that’s how I see alot of people approaching the subject, but that’s a matter for another time.

WHY FALL IS THE BEST TIME TO MOVE:

  1. The Weather

We’re still pretty hot here in the great state of Georgia, but even we’ve breathed that sigh of relief as the gauge started inching down below 90 once again (says the girl who is writing this when the temperature gauge still reads 81… but I digress once again). When you’re moving your entire house, it would be a nice little treat not to die every time you walk outside or into the back of the moving truck (hello sauna, ladies and gentlemen). The crisp breezes and moderate temperatures are a welcome addition.

  1. Less Competition.

There’s a reason spring and summer are the busiest real estate seasons, people are preparing to move either right as the kids get out of school or right before they go back in. With all the kiddos back into their classrooms, that leaves a more open playing field for the fall if you happen to be in the market for a home. It’s before the crush of the holiday season, and getting into a new home before the first twinkle light goes up holds a definite appeal.

  1. All the Bugs are Back in the Ground

Again, in this state there’s still a few that like to hang around, but at least the MOSQUITOES have gone back into hiding, and if that’s not a blessing I can’t tell you what is.

  1. Lower Interest Rates

As I’m sure you’ve noticed, interest rates have inched back down, and this is welcomed news all around. As of the writing of this post (9/16/24), interest rates are hovering around the 6.5% mark (a little higher or a little lower depending on your individual situation). This allows for a more manageable monthly payment, and who doesn’t want that??

So if you happen to be in the market this fall, just know that you’ve picked a banger of a time to find yourself a new home. If you have any questions, reach out! My info is below.

Until next time.
